Our Staff

Zachary Hammer has been fencing competitively for over 15 years.

Representing SFFC, Zack has medaled at numerous regional, national, and international tournaments. He also fenced at the NCAA Division 1 level for Boston College, where he earned rookie of the year and was on the ACC academic honor roll.

During his junior and senior years at Boston College he took on the role of student foil coach, helping the women’s foil squad reach new record in wins at the Northeast Conference Meet.

Zack has been coaching part time for SFFC for almost 8 years before taking on a full-time coaching role with the club.

Zack’s coaching philosophy centers fostering a lifelong joy for the sport of fencing, with additional emphasis on building a strong foundation of technique, footwork, and tactical decision-making.

When not fencing, Zack enjoys spending time as a content creator, making art, playing video games, spending time outdoors, listening to live music, and spending time with friends.
